She took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then eyes of both of them were opened and they knew they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. Genesis 3:6-7
Adam and Eve were in fellowship with God, their spirit was in union with God. But the relationship was put to the test on the obedience of Adam. When they fell the union was served and were no longer in the Spirit but were ruled by their flesh. The desires of the flesh superseding the things of the Spirit. Eve believed the word of the devil and acted in unbelief by eating the fruit, and Adam followed suite and acted in disobedience.
The same way we fell is the same way we rise, it is by faith. We are saved by believing in the grace of our Lord Jesus and the corresponding action to that faith, the confession of our mouth. Baptism is also a corresponding action of faith, the putting away of sin/flesh, a response to repentance which is good consciences towards God, as such no one can do for us. And through faith we also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who enables us to live holy and sanctified lives.
“How much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” Luke 11:13
It is whom we choose to believe, and our corresponding action to it. We are made of the incorruptible word of God and we make our confession to live our life in accordance, free form sin, disease or anything that does not accord with the promise of God.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2
Adam and Eve were in a perfect setting, in the garden of God with no corruption, in the midst of this the wicked one told a lie, seeing what is pure before their eyes, they chose to believe a lie, and his corruption infected the world. Sin is unbelief resulting in disobedience, they did not believe the word of God and acted in disobedience, as a result sin entered and death with it.
In same manner, now we are in a fallen world, corruption is everywhere. We have the word of God that whispers the truth, that all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and Him Amen. Therefore we walk not according to what we see but by faith in the word of God. So we “bless and do not curse” with His incorruptibility by the Spirit of God everything around us. God will bless us if we give so we give believing. He will heal if we lay hands on the sick, so we lay hands and “the demons are subject to you in My name,” so we command and cast them out.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
Therefore we enforce the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, engaging in battle not with flesh and blood but against powers and principalities and spiritual hosts of wickedness. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 We say no to sin, we say no to disease we say no to poverty we say, we say… That “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Proverbs 18:21 Since our battle is spiritual, not something we can see, touch, feel, or taste, thus we speak the words of faith.
We have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed therefore I spoke.” we also believe and therefore speak.
2 Corinthians 4:13
