We are going to be continuing in the theme of the Righteous Judgement to come. The main objective of this study is to illustrate the distinction that exists between the First Death and that of the Second, which we hope to do from the perspective of the Rods of Moses and Aaron. The idea being, to help us to be firmly established on the means by which we are to come into the inheritance of the Kingdom of God. This is very IMPORTANT, because many Christians have stopped at the Cross, and live a life of perpetual ritual of sin and forgiveness, as a result they have failed to grasp, the VITAL part the Holy Spirit plays in Righteousness and Holiness in order to bring us into the Kingdom of God.

The main text for our study is from Exodus 4:2-4, which reads, “So the Lord said to him [Moses], “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A ROD.” And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a SERPENT; and Moses fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand).”

The Rod of Moses by which he performed all the mighty acts of God is an analogy for the Cross of Christ. Now, before we address the main point of our study, we have to first establish the foundation of why “the Rod,” or  “the Tree,” have great significance in the REDEMPTION of Mankind. The beginning of which we find in the Garden of Eden, when the Lord God commanded Adam saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the TREE of the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17. So, this TREE became the source for the fall of mankind, when the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness to eat of its fruit and she in return gave it to her husband to eat. So, here we have all the components that were necessary for the fall of Mankind, the Tree that is the source of the Consciousness of Evil, the Serpent in the Act of Sin, and Death which is the eventual outcome.

Now, when we think of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, we are at times confused why the tree was even in the Garden of Eden in the first place. And the answer is given, because of the importance of “free will,” and rightly so. However, in doing so we by the same measure attribute evil to God, since the TREE is His creation, thereby we have made God to be the source of the knowledge of Evil, but this is VERY WRONG. As John said, “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5. Meaning God is ALL GOOD, therefore God recognises Evil by the law of contradiction, that is whatever is NOT of Him is Evil. So, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is meant to be a PROXY for the devil, the same way as the Tree of Life which was also in the midst of the Garden is a PROXY for the Lord. Evil is NOT the creation of God, but of Lucifer who corrupted his wisdom, as Ezekiel says of him, “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God;” and, “Your HEART was lifted up because of your beauty; You CORRUPTED your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I CAST you to the GROUND.” Ezekiel 28:12-13, 17. And it is this corrupted wisdom that is the consciousness of evil which is represented in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Now, the attribution of the Trees to spiritual beings is evident in the writing of Isaiah, where he compares the casting down of Lucifer to a tree being cut down saying, “Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, ‘Since you were cut down, no woodsman has come up against us.’ “Sheol from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming;” Then he says, “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are CUT DOWN to the GROUND, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven.” Isaiah 14:8-9, 12-13. Likewise, Ezekiel also describes the fall of Lucifer from the perspective of the Trees in the Garden of Eden saying, “No tree in the garden of God was like it in beauty. I made it beautiful with a multitude of branches, So that all the trees of Eden envied it, that were in the garden of God.’ “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have increased in height, and it set its top among the thick boughs, and its HEART was LIFTED up in its height, therefore I will deliver it into the hand of the mighty one of the nations, and he shall surely deal with it; I have DRIVEN it out for its wickedness.” Ezekiel 31:9-11. And he describes the end of this tree in the similar manner as Isaiah said of Lucifer to be in the depth of the Earth, in Sheol down in the Pit. [Ezekiel 31:14.] The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is a representation of Satan in his corrupted wisdom, hence John in Revelation 8:10 depicts the devil as a torch that fell to the ground, which corrupted the rivers and streams of water.

And eating the FRUIT of this TREE meant our BODY was going to be susceptible to the influence of the devil. PLEASE NOTE: it is our BODY and not our SPIRIT that was made subject to the influence of this wicked spirit. So when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of this tree, they took on the nature of the devil in their FLESH, and the first thing they noticed was that, “The EYES of both of them were OPENED, and they KNEW that they were NAKED.” Genesis 3:7. That is they saw SHAME in their nakedness, which they NEVER did before, but now because they had acquired a corrupted wisdom, they saw through his eyes, and became CONSCIOUS of EVIL. The Lord said, “The EYE is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is CLEAR, your whole BODY will be full of LIGHT. But if your eye is EVIL, your whole BODY will be full of DARKNESS.” Matthew 6:22-23. The Eye is a reference to the understanding, therefore when Adam’s understanding was clear, his body was full of light but when he opened himself to know evil then his whole body became full of darkness. So even though Adam had the same naked body as always but NOW he understood differently and it filled him with shame.

It was to EVIL that we were AWAKENED, and even worse we began to desire it because it is his spirit that works in our flesh. As Paul says, “Which once you walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, among whom we all also once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of its thoughts.” Ephesians 2:2-3. And it is precisely this CONFLICT which the Law came to bring to light, as Paul says, “But I have not known sin, if not by Law. And indeed, I had not been CONSCIOUS of covetousness if the Law had not said, ‘You shall not covet.’” Romans 7:7. The Law did not CREATE covetousness, but it EXPOSED the sin which we were BLINDLY living under. That is the nature of sin that dwelt in our flesh. [Romans 7:17-18.] So when Paul says, “For through the Law is knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20. He is saying through the Law is knowledge of the nature of the devil.

Hence, the redemption of Mankind is represented through the TREE of the CROSS in order to address the THREE main factors of the fall, that is Consciousness of Evil, Deeds of Sin and the Outcome of Death. As Paul says, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it has been written: “CURSED is everyone hanging on a TREE.” Galatians 3:13. Which Peter also describes as, “Who Himself bore our SINS in His body on the TREE, so that, having been DEAD to sins, we might live to righteousness.” 1 Peter 2:24. And Paul describes the effect of the sacrifice of the Lord as, “How much more will the Blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself UNBLEMISHED to God, PURIFY our CONSCIENCE from dead works, in order to serve the living God!” Hebrews 9:14. That is our conscience cleansed from evil, in the forgiveness of our sins, through which we are delivered from the grips of Death and Hades.

So, it is these facts which the Rod of Moses through which he delivered Israel from the bondage of Egypt was also meant to represent. So, at Mount Horeb when Moses cast the Rod to the ground at the command of God, it turned into a SERPENT, which is meant to represent the Lord coming in the likeness of sinful flesh FROM God. As Paul says, “God, having sent His Son in likeness of sin of flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.” Roman 8:3. And with the same Rod Moses performed the mighty works of God. Similarly, Aaron’s Rod was also turned into a serpent but this time it was in the land of Egypt in the presence of Pharaoh, which swallowed up the rods of Pharaoh’s magicians. [Exodus 7:8-10.] This is meant to express the Lord Jesus Christ having become sin for us, which the Lord attributed to Himself, saying, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus it behooves the Son of Man to be lifted up.” John 3:14. And Paul also says, “He made the One not having known sin to be sin for us.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. Through which the Lord gave us victory over the serpent of old, the devil.

We need to bear in mind, the Cross of Christ through which the Redemption of Mankind was worked, was also the means through which the kingdom of the devil is brought to destruction. So, we can look at the works Moses performed with the Rod in the land of Egypt to be parallel to that of the Lord Jesus Christ in the land of Israel. The effect is this: What Moses had done was against the spiritual kingdom of the devil, so water was turned to blood and every action performed by the Rod brought destruction upon the kingdom of darkness. However, the first miracle the Lord performed in the Land of Israel was to turn water into wine, meaning life and celebration to Mankind. So what became Life to us inversely meant destruction to the spirits of wickedness, as John says, “For this reason the Son of God was revealed, so that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8. And Paul also says, “The wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12.

The Cross of Christ was the means by which the Devil and his angels were cast out of Heaven, and our victory declared. As John says, “And the great dragon was thrown out, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, deceiving the whole inhabited world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” That is, the Blood of Christ became a barrier which the devil CANNOT break, having stripped him of all the authority he had through sin. And John declares our victory over the devil saying, “And they have overcome him by reason of the BLOOD of the Lamb, and by reason of the word of their testimony; and they have not loved their life unto death.” Revelation 12:9,11. So in the story of Israel the Red Sea became a barrier, beyond which Pharaoh and his army could not cross. And Moses declared to them, “For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.” Exodus 14:13. So, in this instance Red is a reference to the Blood of the Lord through whom the great gulf that separates us from the domain of Death and Hades is now fixed.

Note the similarity, Moses worked the many wonders of God in the land of Egypt through the Rod that turned into a serpent at Mount Horeb. And the final act when the lamb without blemish was sacrificed and its blood applied on the lentils and post of the door, through which Israel escaped from the destroyer of the first born and came out of Egypt. And with the SAME Rod Moses opened the Red Sea, and Israel crossed over as if on dry ground, giving them ABSOLUTE VICTORY, when the army of Pharaoh was drowned in its depth. [Exodus 14:15-18, Hebrews 11:28-29.] Likewise, Jesus also performed many miracles in the land of Israel, having come in the form of sinful flesh. And at the end of His ministry He was also sacrificed as UNBLEMISHED Lamb of God, His flesh torn as the Veil bearing our sins, so that we may have ABSOLUTE VICTORY over Sin, Death and the Flesh. [Hebrews 10:20.]

The Point is this, the Rod that is the Cross, is a means by which we have COMPLETE victory over the kingdom of Darkness and we are reconciled to God. As Paul says, “By Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace by the blood of His cross through Him, whether the things on the earth or the things in the heavens.” Colossians 1:20. So beyond the Red Sea, in the wilderness of Sinai, the Rod of Moses was NEVER once used to bring judgment upon the children of Israel. The point being, Christ Crucified is the means by which all the works of the devil and the effect of sin in our lives is meant to be ANNULLED. All the elements that afflict this world are ROOTED in sin and it is through the Cross of Christ that Sin is annulled. As Paul says, “But now He has been revealed once in the consummation of the ages for the PUTTING AWAY of sin by the sacrifice of Himself.” Hebrews 9:26. So the Rod, that is the Cross, became a means by which the Spiritual was judged and life provided to the Natural. As the Lord said, “Now is the judgment of this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all to Myself.” John 12:31-32. [Hebrews 2:16.]

So, once Israel crossed over the Red Sea through the Rod of Moses, which is a representation of passing from the domain of Death and Hades to Life, there were several significant events that took place, which we need to address. The First is that the bitter waters of Marah were made sweet when Moses cast the TREE into it at the command of God described in Exodus 15:25. The effect of which is meant to represent the cleansing of our conscience from evil by the blood of Jesus Christ. [Hebrews 9:14.] This was followed by the Manna which God rained down from heaven, which is meant to represent the Word of God. [John 6:51.] Now, there is a point of significance which we need to address in regards to the Manna which the Isralites kept overnight, which resulted in breeding worms and to stink. The purpose of which was to illustrate to us, the Word of God MUST be KEPT FRESH in our lives, for us to partake of it DAILY. So, we cannot say, I have read through the Bible once therefore that ought to suffice.

Our knowledge of God is meant to grow, as we come to the deep things of God, so what we thought we understood today might not suffice for tomorrow. As Paul says, “You may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING to walk worthily of the Lord: pleasing in all, bringing forth fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:9-10. Meaning, there is an expectation for us to MATURE, which is meant to be exhibited in the manner of our walk. Paul says, “As many as are MATURE should be of this mind. And if you are minded in anything differently, even this God will reveal to you. Nevertheless, to that which we have attained, we are to walk by the same.” Philippians 3:15-16. We must understand that there is an age of accountability even in the Spirit, and this requires us to partake of the Word and the Spirit, in order for us to grow to maturity.

Now, this was followed by the Water that sprung up from the Rock when Moses struck it with the Rod at the command of God saying, “Take in your hand your Rod with which you struck the river, and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall STRIKE the ROCK, and WATER will come out of it, that the people may DRINK.” Exodus 17:5-6. The Rod that turned the river into blood, that is, it is through the death of the Lord Jesus Christ, through which the Spirit of God has now come to us. Please Note: it is through DEATH that the Lord defeated the Devil, as Paul says, “So that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death, that is, the devil.” Hebrews 2:14. And the effect of this overflow of Life that came on the account of Christ Crucified was described by the Lord Himself as, “Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. The one believing in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.’” Now He said this concerning the Spirit, whom those having believed in Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:37-39. The point is, it is our belief in the ALL SUFFICIENCY of the SACRIFICE of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins, which qualifies us to receive the promised Holy Spirit.

Thus far we have addressed all that was accomplished by the Rod of Moses, in bringing Israel out of the bondage of Egypt, and the provision of spiritual food and drink in the Manna from Heaven and Water from the Rock. [1 Corinthians 10:3-4.] Now, we have come to the effect of these provisions which are meant to be the means that enables us to inherit the Kingdom of God. In that at Mount Sinai on the day of Pentecost God gave Israel His Laws, which they were expected to keep. Please Note: what we are discussing here is the symbolism of the Ark of the Covenant, which was meant to guide Israel through the wilderness and bring them into the Promised Land. As we have shown the Rod of Moses was used to bring Israel out of Egypt, now we have come to the MEANS by which Israel was meant to be brought into the promise, that is the Ark. God describes the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold, and contained the Tablet of Commandments, the Golden Pot of Manna and the Rod of Aaron that budded with almond blossoms and fruit, above it were the cherubim of glory, overshadowing the golden mercy seat, from which God spoke with Moses. [Hebrews 9:4-5.] The point we want to make here is that the Ark of the Covenant with all its components was described by God, as a representation of the Holy Spirit saying, “He who put His Holy Spirit within [the Midst of] them.” Isaiah 63:11. The Holy Spirit rested in the Midst of Israel above the Ark on the Mercy seat of gold overshadowed by the cherubim of glory. [Exodus 25:22.] So the Ark is a complete expression for the Holy spirit that came on the account of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we need to pay attention to the contents of the Ark, and their significance to us. PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT to say we ought to LOOK at the Law, but for us to recognise how the Law is fulfilled in us by the Holy Spirit. Jeremiah prophesying of the New Covenant in Christ said, “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:33. [2 Corinthians 3:3.] Meaning, the Law is fulfilled in us when the Holy Spirit came to make His dwelling in us, through which He poured out the Love of God in our hearts, the result of which is that we Love God and love our neighbour. [Romans 5:5. 1 John 4:7-8.] And Paul in Galatians 5:14 says, Love is the fulfilment of the Law.

The Golden Pot of Manna, is meant to represent the promises of God by which we are meant to be nourished in our spiritual lives. Moses said, “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3. Which the Lord later quoted, when He was tempted in the wilderness by the devil to turn stone into bread. [Matthew 4:4.] And the Holy Spirit has come so that we may know the things having been granted to us by God, that is the promises of God through which we become partakers of the Divine Nature. [1 Corinthians 2:12, 2 Peter 1:3-4.] For which the Rod of Aaron that turned into a serpent in the presence of Pharaoh is now portrayed as one the budded almond blossoms and fruit, which is meant to represent a resurrected life that produces the fruit of the Spirit. As Peter says, “Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God, having been put to death indeed in the flesh, but having been made alive in the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18. Almond blossoms are found in only one item in the Tabernacle of God, that is on the seven branched golden Menorah, which is meant to represent the Seven Spirits of God. [Exodus 37:17-24.] So as the Ark in the midst of Israel was meant to alter the manner of their life from the rest of the world, in order to bring them into the promised land, the Spirit of God is also given to us precisely for the SAME purpose. Which Paul describes as a New way of Living in Romans 6:4, and Newness of the Spirit in Romans 7:6.

Now, we have come to the main point of our study that is to draw a distinction between, the Rod Moses raised above the Red Sea to DIVIDE its waters, and the Rod of Aaron that budded contained within the Ark of the Covenant which Joshua sent ahead of Israel to RESTRAIN the Jordan River. The significant point here is that the Jordan River is described as being restrained and not divided, because it is a representation of the overflow of the Judgment of God, breaking forth all restraints in WRATH. Sin ends in DEATH, that is the Red Sea, which is an expression for another realm that belongs to Death & Hades. However, failure to walk in Righteousness results in WRATH, that is the Jordan River, which flows into the Dead Sea to the lowest place on earth, an arid barren place where nothing lives. And is meant to be an expression for a place where both spiritual and natural beings are equally punished. [Isaiah 24:21-22.] So Paul drawing distinction between the two judgments of God says, “Therefore much more, having been JUSTIFIED now by His BLOOD, we will be SAVED by Him from WRATH! For if, being enemies, we were RECONCILED to God through the DEATH of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be SAVED in His LIFE!” Romans 5:9-10. The significance being, the Rod of Moses is meant to represent the death of the Lord through which victory over the kingdom of Darkness is obtained. However, Aaron’s Rod which budded is meant to represent a New Life in the Spirit that produces fruits to God, through which we inherit the kingdom of God. Please Note, only the Rod of Aaron that budded crossed over the Jordan River and into the promised land, being contained within the Ark of the Covenant. The significance to us is that only a life lived in the Spirit will inherit the kingdom of God.

The Point is this, there is a difference between the Last Adam & the Second Man, and the Rod of Moses & the Rod of Aaron that budded. The Last Adam, forgave our sins, saving us from the state of being in ADAM which took us ALL to the depth of Hades NOT Hell. But the Promises of God, of life and inheritance belong to the Second Man, and to those who have learned to walk with Him in His Spirit in lives of Righteousness and Holiness. As Paul says, “For if you live according to flesh, you are about to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans 8:13-14. [Romans 6:22, Galatians 5:25.] The point is, there is a gap between the Red Sea and the Jordan River, but many Christians have camped out on the shores of the Red Sea in ignorance, and have NOT realised the requirement to walk by the Spirit of God in Righteousness and Sanctification, in order to come into the Promised Inheritance, which is beyond the Jordan River.

And both Paul and Jude, used Israel in the wilderness as an illustration for the gap that exists between the Red Sea and the Jordan River, in order to establish the manner of life we live after we have come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ bears consequences. Paul says, “For who were those having heard, rebelled, but not all those having come out of Egypt by the leading of Moses? And with whom was He indignant forty years, if not with those having sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?” Hebrews 3:16-17. Likewise Jude also says, “Now I want to remind you, you having known all this, that Jesus, having saved at one time a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward He destroyed those not having believed.” Jude 1:5. We have to understand the Cross of Christ brings us beyond the reach of Death and Hades, BUT THIS is NOT inheritance. The inheritance belongs to the Heavenly Man, and to those who are conformed to His Image to live in the Spirit, having crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. [Galatians 5:24.] As Paul says, “God has chosen you from the beginning unto salvation in the sanctification of the Spirit, and by faith of the truth; to this also He called you through our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thess. 2:13-14.

The Last point we make in this study, is to illustrate the different concepts that are presented by the Rods of Moses and Aaron. That is, we at times fail to see that the resurrection of the Lord applies to ALL of Mankind, that is, Christ dying for the sins of the world has in effect made it possible for EVERYONE to be raised from the DEAD, whether they believe in Him or not. Paul says, “For as indeed in Adam ALL die, so also in Christ ALL will be made ALIVE.” 1 Corinthians 15:22. That is why, both Paul and Peter referring to the Psalm of David made the point that the Flesh and Bone body of the Lord never saw corruption. [Acts 2:25-32, Acts 13:34-37.] The result of which is that, we have two types of Mankind, those who belong to Christ will become Spirit-Mankind just as He is, and will inherit both Heaven and Earth with Him. [1 John 3:2.] The rest will remain Flesh-Mankind, which incorporate both those who are eternally judged, and those who will come through the tribulation, and of their descendants that will live during the 1000 years reign of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So Flesh-Mankind, that passes through the Great White Throne of Judgment described in Revelation 20:11-14, will inherit the New Earth. However, they do not get to enter INTO the New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven to dwell in their midst, as described in Revelation 21. And Moses going up Mount Nebo in the land of Moab, the son of Lot, to look upon the promised land which he was not permitted to enter, is meant to represent all those that are barred from entering the Assembly of the Lord. [Deuteronomy 34:1-5.] Paul says, “Flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor does decay inherit immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:50. And this is the essential difference between the Rod of Moses and that of the Rod of Arron that budded, one remained Flesh, while the other was turned to be Spirit. And this is also illustrated in the death of Moses, in that the devil who had power of death through sin was not permitted to have the body of Moses. As Jude says, “Michael the archangel, when he was reasoning with the devil, disputing about the body of Moses.” Jude 1:9. It is NOT to say Moses did not see corruption, but he was meant to be a SYMBOL of Flesh-Mankind that will be RAISED beyond the grip of Death and Hades. [Revelation 21:4.] So the bible records God buried Moses, even to hide his body from the devil, as to illustrate those whom death will not be permitted to feed on. [Psalm 49:14.] So in the cross of Christ Moses’ Rod represented the Horizontal Beam that is world, while Aaron’s Rod that budded represented the Vertical Beam that is heaven.

And this is translated into two types of inheritance which are illustrated in the two groups of the tribes of Israel. The first was composed of Ruben, Gad and half the tribes of Manasseh, those who inherited their share on the other side of the Jordan River, having chosen their inheritance by what they saw, saying, “If we have found favour in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan.” Numbers 32:5. The Second is the nine and half tribes of Israel who crossed over the Jordan River to inherit the land promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and got their portion by faith through the casting of lots. Moses who went up the Mount Nebo in the Land of Moab, the son of Lot, to look upon the promised land but never to enter into it, is a representation for the two and half tribes of Israel. This group belongs to FLESH-MANKIND that survived the trial of the world that came on the account of the beast and the false prophet, and their descendants that lived after them in the millennium reign of the Lord.

As such Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, one that missed out on the double portion of his inheritance due to his act of disobedience represents the Jews. Gad, son of Zilpha, Leah’s maid, whose name means, “a troop comes,” is meant to represent those of the world, whom Zechariah identifies as, “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is LEFT of all the NATIONS which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.” Zechariah 14:16. So in this instance we applied “troop,” to mean multitude of nations. Last of this group is the half Tribe of Manasseh, son of Joseph born to his Egyptian wife, and is meant to represent those who have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in the present age but have not quite walked with Him according to His Spirit, as a result they have missed out on the Rapture of the Church. These Christians are likened to the Five Foolish virgins that missed the RAPTURE whom the Lord told “Truly I say to you, I do not know you.” Matthew 25:12. However, the Lord did not utter to them the dreaded words, “depart from Me.” So, they will have to face the terror of the next seven years of tribulation to the point of losing their lives, in rejecting the mark of the beast and the worship of his image. Unlike their brothers Ephraim and half the tribe of Manasseh who are raptured to be with the Lord, representing those through faith and suffering produced fruits in order to inherit the kingdom of God. [Romans 8:17.] So, in these three tribes, we have the three main groups of mankind represented, Jews, Gentiles and the Church of God. [1 Corinthians 10:32.]

To these, the point needs to be stressed, Revelation 20:4 speaks of those that are raised from the dead, who were beheaded for the faith in God and their testimony of Jesus, as John says, “And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” This resurrection applies to JEWS only, as to be raised to be spirit-Mankind, but does not quite apply to the members of the Church of God that lost their lives during that period, since they have MISSED out on their opportunity to become Spirit-Mankind during the RAPTURE of the Church. And this is illustrated in the fact, the thrones were set in the resurrection in judgement of those that were beheaded, which is meant to apply to the twelve tribes of Israel. [Matthew 19:28.] And their resurrection is described by John as, “And those conquering over the beast, and over its image, and over the number of its name, standing upon the sea of glass, having harps of God. And they are singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb.” Revelation 15:2-3. The song of Moses and the Lamb is meant to specifically illustrate these are JEWS. So in the cross of Christ, Moses’ Rod represents the Horizontal Beam that is Flesh-Mankind that will inherit the world, while Aaron’s Rod that budded represents the Vertical Beam that Spirit-mankind that will inherit both Heaven and Earth.
