True to Our Nature!

Based on, the teaching of Bill Johnson.

For there is born to you this day in the City of David a saviour, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21

A Sinner is one nature with sin and is unable to differentiate between himself and sin. When he makes excuses to delay or avoid coming to Christ: he is running through the list of things he wants to do and enjoys still doing. He is thinking, “why should I give up this things” and so on. But these are things sin is working through him reminding and persuading him of the good and fun things he has now, and compares it to what seems like the dreary prospect that is being offered him. And this can not be otherwise, for the allure of the world which is so gripping and prevalent, is true to his nature.

“But when one turns to the Lord, the vail is lifted” 2 Corinthians 3:15

Though this verse speaks of the law, the same can be easily said of the sin nature. Only when a person is saved through Christ, and has become new, then he can truly look back and see from where he has come out. Because He has taken the nature of the One who saved him. The things that were such an integral part of him, the things he lamented for (could not imagine forgoing) has now become alien to him. All because his nature is changed. He belongs to another.

For if anyone is in Christ He is a new creation, old things have passed away all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Only, he must come in faith, and not seeking to make allowance for the continuation of the things he does now as a condition of his salvation. Old nature is not compatible with the new.

If anyone desires to comes after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25

But at the same time Jesus also tells us:

Come to Me, all you who labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

This is what is being offered in Christ, it is not moulding a square peg in a round hole, but a complete transformation. Come to Christ and let Him change you.

Sinners Prayer: (a new beginning)

Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who came to this world to take away our sins, I believe you have risen from the dead, and are sitting at the righthand of God in Heaven. I am sorry for my sins and I turn away from the person I was, I ask You to forgive me and to give me of Your nature. I give you my future. And I ask this in Your Name, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Religion keeps the old nature and try to shape it through regulations. Faith takes on His nature and is transformed by it.”
